Teacher: (smiling brightly) Good morning, kids! Today, we’re going to learn about something very exciting different types of weather!
Kids: (cheering)
Yesss, ma’am!
Teacher:
Now, who here knows what weather means?
Anaya: (raising her hand)
Is it like when it rains or when it’s hot outside?
Teacher:
Exactly, Anaya! Weather is what’s happening in the sky every day. Sometimes it’s sunny, sometimes rainy, sometimes cold—and even sometimes windy! Now let’s talk about the four main seasons in our country.
Teacher:
Let’s start with Summer! Who likes summer?
(A few kids raise their hands slowly.)
Rohan:
But, ma’am, it’s so hot in summer!
Teacher: (laughing softly)
Yes, Rohan, you’re right! Summer is the hottest season. It comes between March to June. The sun shines really bright, and the days are long and warm. That’s why we drink lots of water, eat juicy fruits like mangoes, and wear cotton clothes to stay cool. And of course—we should always carry an umbrella or wear a cap when we go outside.
Zoya:
I like mangoes! So I like summer a little bit!
Teacher:
See? Every season has something special!
Teacher:
Next up is the Rainy Season or Monsoon. This season starts at the end of June and goes on till October. It rains and rains and rains!
Kabir:
I love jumping in puddles!
Teacher:
(laughs) Yes, Kabir! But don’t forget your raincoat and gumboots when you do that! During the rainy season, we carry umbrellas, and the plants and trees become fresh and green. Farmers are happy because their crops get water. It’s nature’s shower time!
Teacher:
Now let’s talk about a very colorful and happy season—Spring!
Anaya:
Oooh! That’s when flowers bloom, right?
Teacher:
Absolutely! Spring comes between February and early May. The weather is not too hot, not too cold—it’s just perfect! Flowers bloom everywhere, butterflies dance around, and birds sing sweet songs. Everything feels fresh and alive in spring.
Zoya:
My mom says spring is the best season for picnics!
Teacher:
She’s absolutely right, Zoya. It’s a wonderful time to go outside and play too!
Teacher:
And now, the last season—Winter! This season starts at the end of November and lasts till early March.
Rohan:
Brrr! I don’t like winter. It’s too cold!
Teacher:
(laughs) Yes, it is chilly, especially in the mornings. But winter is also when we get to wear cozy sweaters, drink hot chocolate, and eat yummy seasonal fruits and vegetables like carrots, oranges, and green peas. You’ll also see foggy mornings and warm sunshine in the afternoons.
Kabir:
I like wearing my woolly monkey cap!
Teacher:
That’s the spirit! Every season has its own beauty and its own fun.
Teacher:
So, to remember:
- Summer is hot and sunny.
- Rainy is wet and green.
- Spring is fresh and colorful.
- Winter is cold and cozy.
Kids:
Yay! We know the seasons now!
Teacher:
So the next time you step outside, look at the sky and ask yourself—what’s the weather today?
Moral:
Every season is special in its own way. When we understand and enjoy each one, we learn to love nature a little more!
