But in India, we have another date. Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, was born on the 14th of November 1889, so after the demise of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indians began to celebrate Children’s Day on his birthdate.

He is known for loving children and working for their welfare and future. Also, he established  the Children’s Film Society India in 1955 to provide children with access to native cinema. He also fought for the rights of little children in his era and wanted an inclusive education system for every child.

To commemorate this birth anniversary, every year, the Children’s Day Celebration in preschool is happily enjoyed among children just to remember his love for the children and his strong conviction that kids are the building blocks of society, which won him the title of ‘Chacha Nehru’ among the children.

The Rights of Every Child in India

A perfect and accurate celebration of Children’s Day would be to ensure that the rights of a child given by the Constitution of India are always upheld. These rights include:

  • Education should be compulsory for every child aged between 6 and 14 years. It is very essential and should be highly considered by everyone. Everyone has a right to have a proper amount of care as well as quality education.
  • Every child must be provided with a right to be safeguarded from looking after any type of economic obligation by performing an occupation that is unsuited to their age group or their physical strength.
  • Every child must receive fair as well as equal opportunities to ensure their overall improvement while going through their development. It provides the qualitative progress of a child while he is at his developing stage.
  • A right to freedom and dignity as well as protection against exploitation. This right boosts a child’s confidence level along with a feeling of fearlessness and pride.

Final Thoughts

As we all express our joy and pride in being citizens of India while celebrating the birth anniversary of a visionary leader, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, on his birth anniversary, fun activity on Children’s Day in playschool should be organised we should also follow his ideology of standing up for the children of our nation.

Only creating social media posts or greetings for Children’s Day won’t be counted as a very good celebration. True celebration means raising your voice for the unprivileged children or the children who are facing bad problems like harassment, child labour, etc.

We should make ourselves responsible enough to stay compassionate in serving the children of our nation; only by then would we be able to make our nation progressive and stable.
