Rohan was a cheerful little boy with bouncy hair and endless energy. He loved running in the park, jumping over puddles, and playing hide and seek with his friends. But there was one thing he always forgot to do\u2014put his shoes back on the shoe rack.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every day, after returning from school or the playground, Rohan would toss his shoes somewhere\u2014sometimes near the sofa, sometimes in the kitchen, and once even in the bathroom!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRohan!\u201d his mom would call out, almost every evening. \u201cPlease put your shoes on the rack!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohan would just shrug and say, \u201cI\u2019ll do it later, Mom!\u201d before running off to his next exciting adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Rohan didn\u2019t know was\u2026 his shoes could talk.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One quiet night, when the house was still and Rohan was fast asleep, a tiny voice whispered from the living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOuch! That kid stepped on me again!\u201d grumbled the Left Shoe, wiggling its tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was squished under the table all day!\u201d said the Right Shoe, shaking off some dust. \u201cI\u2019m tired of being ignored!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have an idea,\u201d said Left Shoe. \u201cLet\u2019s hide! Maybe then he\u2019ll understand how we feel!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the two shoes tiptoed away\u2014yes, tiptoed\u2014and crawled under the couch, giggling as they nestled in the shadows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, Rohan yawned and stretched, ready to head out to play. He rushed to the living room and… stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere are my shoes?!\u201d he exclaimed, looking around in panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He looked under the table. No shoes. Behind the curtain. Still no shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as he was about to give up, he heard the faintest of voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRohan\u2026\u201d came a whisper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHuh?\u201d Rohan blinked. \u201cWho said that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s us,\u201d said Left Shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re hiding,\u201d added Right Shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohan\u2019s eyes widened. \u201cYou can talk?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes!\u201d they both chorused. \u201cAnd we\u2019re hiding because you never take care of us!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re tired of being kicked around, stepped on, and forgotten in corners,\u201d said Right Shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou never put us on the rack!\u201d added Left Shoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohan felt a pang of guilt. \u201cI… I didn\u2019t know you felt that way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, we do,\u201d said Left Shoe with a sniff. \u201cAnd we just want a nice, clean spot on the rack where we belong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohan dropped to his knees and gently reached under the couch. He pulled out the shoes and dusted them off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really sorry,\u201d he said softly. \u201cYou were right. I haven\u2019t treated you well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He walked over to the shoe rack, placed them neatly on the bottom shelf, and gave them a little pat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere,\u201d he smiled. \u201cFrom now on, you\u2019ll always have your cozy place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoes beamed with pride\u2014or at least, it felt that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you, Rohan,\u201d they said in unison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From that day on, Rohan became a changed boy. Not only did he put his shoes back on the rack every single day, but he also started tidying up his toys, arranging his books, and even helping his mom fold laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talking shoes never had to hide again, and Rohan\u2019s home stayed neat and happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And sometimes, just sometimes, when everything was quiet, Rohan would tiptoe to the shoe rack, smile, and whisper, \u201cThanks for teaching me a lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
