It was a sunny Sunday afternoon when little Tira stepped out of the car holding a small bouquet of fresh marigolds and daisies. Her hand was snug in her mother\u2019s as they walked toward a quiet building with a sign that read: Silver Years Old-Age Home.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira looked up, curious. \u201cMama, why are we here?\u201d she asked softly, adjusting the pink clip in her hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her mother smiled gently. \u201cToday, we\u2019re visiting some grandparents who don\u2019t have their families nearby. They\u2019ll be so happy to meet you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira looked down at the flowers in her hand and nodded. She wasn\u2019t sure what to expect, but something about the place felt warm and peaceful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the walls were lined with framed photos, hand-painted drawings, and shelves filled with books. Some elderly people sat in a cozy common room sipping tea, while others played board games or looked out the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira\u2019s eyes landed on an old lady sitting alone on a garden bench. Her silver hair was neatly tied back, and she stared at the blooming flowers as if waiting for someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira took a deep breath and walked over, holding out the bouquet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHello!\u201d she said brightly. \u201cI\u2019m Tira. These flowers are for you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman blinked, her eyes misty with surprise. She reached out with trembling hands. \u201cOh my\u2026 Thank you, little angel. What\u2019s your name again?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTira,\u201d she repeated, sitting beside her. \u201cI like coloring and eating mangoes! What do you like, Grandma?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman chuckled, her voice soft but full of warmth. \u201cI\u2019m Grandma Meena. I used to love telling stories and knitting sweaters with funny colors. Want to hear a story?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira\u2019s face lit up. \u201cYes, please!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They sat together on the bench as Grandma Meena launched into a magical tale about a flying carpet, a clever kitten, and a talking tree. Her voice danced with excitement, and her hands moved as if weaving the words into pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around them, other elders began to smile and gather closer. A few leaned in to listen. Some chuckled at the funny parts, while others simply enjoyed the sound of a story being told again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A caretaker standing nearby turned to Tira\u2019s mom and whispered, \u201cIt\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve heard such laughter here. Your daughter is special.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira didn\u2019t notice. She was too busy asking Grandma Meena if the kitten ever found its way back to the talking tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time the story ended, Tira was leaning against Grandma Meena\u2019s arm, giggling softly. The sun was starting to dip low, casting golden rays across the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her mother walked over. \u201cTira, it\u2019s time to go, sweetheart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira hugged Grandma Meena tightly. \u201cI\u2019ll come back soon, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grandma Meena smiled, her eyes glassy with tears. \u201cI\u2019ll be waiting, Tira. You made my whole week brighter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they walked away, the elders waved and clapped gently. One even blew Tira a kiss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tira turned back, waving both hands. \u201cBye, everyone!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her mother held her hand again, proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the drive home, Tira said, \u201cMama, can we bring drawings next time? Maybe we can even do a dance!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her mother laughed. \u201cOf course we can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
